DESCRIPTION:We want to remind you that the next Fototertúlia\, which next Monday\, May 8 at 6:30 p.m.\, will be hosted by Roser Cambray\, researcher in the history of photography\, where she will present “THE MUSEUM’S PHOTOGRAPHY COLLECTION UNDER CONSTRUCTION NATIONAL ART OF CATALONIA”. \nWe are very excited to tell you that we have the pleasure of being able to hold this gathering from Center Cívic Pati Llimona\, Carrer del Regomir 3\n08002 Barcelona\, https://goo.gl/maps/AhMpvfaBCaEw3UhB9 \nIn this talk\, Roser Cambrany will give us a review of the history of the photographic collection of the National Art Museum of Catalonia\, showing the alliances and complicities that have made it possible to build the national photographic heritage. \nThe National Art Museum of Catalonia incorporated photography into its collections in 1996 with the creation of a Department of Photography that was born with the purpose of bringing together the most outstanding and representative works of the history of photography \, from the origin of the medium to the present day\, paying special attention to photography taken in Catalonia.\nCurrently\, the collection has a fund of around 54\,000 works\, which has been built up through donations\, such as the funds of Joan Colom\, Josep Maria Casals i Ariet or Pere Formiguera\, with deposits such as that of the Agrupació Fotogràfica de Catalunya or the Oriol Maspons fund and acquisitions of works. \nIn recent years\, in the context of the National Photography Plan\, the collection has grown exponentially and has allowed the incorporation of numerous works by authors from different periods\, which has consolidated the museum’s collection as one of compulsory reference centers for photographic research and creation. \nBut how do you set up a collection of this scope? How is it built? We will review the history of the collection\, showing the alliances and complicities that have made it possible to build this national photographic heritage. \nSee you there!
