SUMMARY:Guided tour IN FOCUS! The female presence in the Agrupació Fotogràfica de Catalunya (1923-1970)\, at Casa Elizalde\, by Victoria Bonet
DESCRIPTION:We inform you of the next activity that will take place on Wednesday 3 May at 6.30pm. We invite you to come to the Cultural Center of La Casa Elizalde for a guided tour of the ENFOCADES exhibition! The female presence in the Agrupació Fotogràfica de Catalunya (1923-1970) with the curator of the exhibition\, Victòria Bonet. \nAs always\, prior registration is required. If a partner wants to attend with a companion\, he or she can register him or her on the form\, but he or she will be on a waiting list. You can find the registration form in the message you received by mail. \n\n\n\nA journey through the female presence in Agrupació Fotogràfica de Catalunya (AFC)\, an organization created in 1923 in Barcelona to promote the art of photography and which this year reaches its centenary.\nThe AFC decidedly bet on promoting the hobby among women at times when they suffered from a special social and cultural relegation. Thanks to the organization of specialized courses or collective exhibitions of their works\, a great generation of pioneers emerged in the fifties\, the so-called “Women’s Group of the AFC”.\nPhotographers of recognized prestige such as Carme Garcia\, Montserrat Vidal-Barraquer\, Glòria Salas\, Milagros Caturla\, Roser Oromí\, Conxita Viñals or Rosa Szücs were part of it. A story of overcoming and will that managed to present a modern and renewing look.

SUMMARY:Fototertúlia THE PHOTOGRAPHY COLLECTION OF THE NATIONAL ART MUSEUM OF CATALONIA UNDER CONSTRUCTION\, by Roser Cambray
DESCRIPTION:We want to remind you that the next Fototertúlia\, which next Monday\, May 8 at 6:30 p.m.\, will be hosted by Roser Cambray\, researcher in the history of photography\, where she will present “THE MUSEUM’S PHOTOGRAPHY COLLECTION UNDER CONSTRUCTION NATIONAL ART OF CATALONIA”. \nWe are very excited to tell you that we have the pleasure of being able to hold this gathering from Center Cívic Pati Llimona\, Carrer del Regomir 3\n08002 Barcelona\, https://goo.gl/maps/AhMpvfaBCaEw3UhB9 \nIn this talk\, Roser Cambrany will give us a review of the history of the photographic collection of the National Art Museum of Catalonia\, showing the alliances and complicities that have made it possible to build the national photographic heritage. \nThe National Art Museum of Catalonia incorporated photography into its collections in 1996 with the creation of a Department of Photography that was born with the purpose of bringing together the most outstanding and representative works of the history of photography \, from the origin of the medium to the present day\, paying special attention to photography taken in Catalonia.\nCurrently\, the collection has a fund of around 54\,000 works\, which has been built up through donations\, such as the funds of Joan Colom\, Josep Maria Casals i Ariet or Pere Formiguera\, with deposits such as that of the Agrupació Fotogràfica de Catalunya or the Oriol Maspons fund and acquisitions of works. \nIn recent years\, in the context of the National Photography Plan\, the collection has grown exponentially and has allowed the incorporation of numerous works by authors from different periods\, which has consolidated the museum’s collection as one of compulsory reference centers for photographic research and creation. \nBut how do you set up a collection of this scope? How is it built? We will review the history of the collection\, showing the alliances and complicities that have made it possible to build this national photographic heritage. \nSee you there!

DESCRIPTION:PRESENTATION OF THE BOOK: THE PHOTOGRAPHY GROUP OF CATALONIA 1923 – 2023\, by Victoria Bonet\, Pere Puigdollers and Vicenç Lafebre. \nMonday\, May 22\, 2023 at 7:00 p.m.\nPhotographic Group of Catalonia. Carrer del Duc\, 14\, 08002 Barcelona. (Free entry. The presentation will be made by Pere Puigdollers and Viçenc Lafebre. For those interested\, we inform you that there will be a point of sale to purchase the book. \nThe Agrupació Fotogràfica de Catalunya is a non-profit organization created in 1923 in Barcelona\, with the aim of promoting the art of photography. \nThroughout its history\, it has been a meeting place for established photographers\, amateurs\, apprentices and professionals\, some of whom have become big names in Catalan photography. Xavier Miserachs\, Ramon Masats\, Ricard Terré\, Francesc Català Roca\, Joaquim Pla Janini\, Claudi Carbonell\, Antoni Campañà or Joan Porqueras are some of these examples. In addition to them and many others\, they also made room – as something exceptional at that time – a whole series of female photographers among which we find names such as Mey Rahola\, Rosa Szücs\, Glòria Salas or Montserrat Vidal-Barraquer and Flaquer\, which are currently being restored to their rightful place in the history of photography in Catalonia. \nThis year 2023\, the centenary of this organization is celebrated with a whole series of activities and exhibitions and also\, in honor of this anniversary\, a book has been prepared that includes\, over 240 pages\, the journey of Agrupació Fotogràfica de Catalunya in these 100 years of living history.
