We will be presented with a photo book that is the result of the participatory photography project TRANSFERING THE OBJECTIVE organized by the Setba Foundation in the women’s unit of the Brians 1 Penitentiary Center in Sant Esteve Sesrovires (in collaboration with the artist and activist Marta F\u00e0bregas .<\/p>\n

For two years, more than sixty women in prison have participated in photography workshops, discovering a new form of expression and doing empowerment work that has improved their self-esteem and image.<\/p>\n

This photo book includes, apart from the portraits in the interns made by the artistic director, photographs of the space of the photographer Laura G\u00e0lvez Rhein and two very special reports, one by Camila Oliveira, currently in third grade and which has had the mentored by Marta F\u00e0bregas, and the other by Sofia Kyprisli, who continues in Brians and has had photojournalist Sandra Balsells as her mentor.<\/p>\n

This project is a statement of principles and this book is the first in the collection. Women are the most forgotten of the prison system, as they represent only 7 of the inmate population, with fewer facilities and resources than men. The Foundation wants to contribute to social transformation through culture, a powerful tool that it always “saves” us.<\/p>\n
